In honor of Older Americans Month, The Heart of Ida, with the City of Long Beach Parks, Recreation, & Marine, will host a community resource fair at the Doris Topsy Elvord Community Center in Houghton Park for older adults and their caregivers. Attendees will discover community resources, including organizations providing counseling, support groups, and educational services tailored to older adults' unique mental health needs. The fair stresses destigmatizing mental health, fostering open dialogue, and building community to alleviate loneliness. Participants can engage in free wellness demonstrations to explore coping strategies, stress management, and resilience-building as tools to promote healthy aging.
